NASA says India’s missile test created a debris field that threatens the space station | National Post

The USA, Russia and China have also done these tests and it has created an estimated 35,000 piecies of debris orbiting earth that puts the international space station, satellites and future space missions at risk of catastrophe.
The Chinese test in 2007 is estimated to have created about 25 percent of today’s debris larger than 10 centimeters.

The space going nations and the UN need to work on treaties protecting at least this part of space and prevent militarizing of space. The nations that created the debris also need to pay for the cleanup.
