Regarding article from May 2014 in Wall Street Journel “The Myth of the Climate Change ‘97%'” linked below.
I don’t have a WSJ subscription so could only read the intro to the article but found another article below which talks about it.
It explains that if you only include “active” climate experts that 97% of them agree on man made climate change but the dangers, risks and severity of impacts of it are not fully understood. This is where more research is needed.
We know we are unlikely to get in an vehicle accident but we still require seat belts and air bags? Why would we not want to take precautions against the much bigger risks of man made climate change?

When I read articles I try and pay attention to the source. I had not heard of Salon but from this info they appear reputable.
